Western Baptist Hospital collected more than 6 tons of non-perishable items for local food pantries during the hospital’s annual “Stuff the Truck” food drive.

Employees collected nearly 10,000 pounds of food from soft drink sales, jean promotions, department competitions and collections boxes ahead of the Dec. 4 food drive. By the day’s end, employee contributions made up more than three-fourths of the total 12,557 pounds donated to Paducah Power’s Christmas in the Park project.

Baptist Heart Center won the inter-department competition with 631 pounds, more than twice the amount they collected last year.

Western Baptist and Lourdes hospitals netted a combined 17,620 pounds of food in separate “Stuff the Truck” food drives for pantries at The Salvation Army, Paducah Cooperative Ministry and Family Service Society.
