Edna ‘Granny Hook’ Hook

GRAND RIVERS — Edna “Granny Hook” Hook, 83, of Grand Rivers, died at 10:15 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Lourdes hospital.

She was a member of Grand Rivers Baptist Church, Co-owned and managed Grand Rivers Fish Market for years and years, worked as a cook for Iron Kettle Restaurant, the Hillbilly Restaurant, and Patti’s Restaurant. She was a 50 plus year member of Calvert City Chapter of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore E. Hook Jr. in 1989; one granddaughter, Leigh Ann O’Nan; one great-grandson, Victor Doom; and two brothers.

Survivors include one son, Cleatis Hook and his wife Barbara of Grand Rivers; three daughters, Margaret Ann Doom and husband T.A. of Grand Rivers, Marina Fay Wilson and husband Jim of Grand Rivers, Martha June Crawford and husband Kevin of Grand Rivers; four sisters, Betty Stinnet of Providence, Virginia Capps of Providence, Giovanninia Phillips of Providence and Opal Waide of Carterville, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at Dunn’s Funeral Home in Eddyville with the Rev. James Oats officiating.

Burial will follow in Dixon Cemetery in Grand Rivers.

Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Dunn’s Funeral Home in Eddyville with Eastern Star services to begin at 7 p.m.
