CLINTON — J.L. Humphreys, 89, of Clinton died at 3:48 p.m. Wednesday at Parkway Regional Hospital in Fulton.
Mr. Humphreys was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and Ironworkers Union Local 782.
He was a construction worker and an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by one daughter, Vicky Kay Carter of Williamsburg, Mo.; one sister Joyce Ann Humphreys of Paris, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Lisa Lewis of Naples, Fla.; Tami Carter of Centralia, Mo., and Melodi Carter of Oxnard, Calif., and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Poe Humphreys, and one brother. His parents were John Perry and Pearl Owen Humphreys.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Brown Funeral Chapel in Clinton.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour. Rev. Max Cooper will officiate, with burial in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens.
