METROPOLIS, Ill. — Ruby A. Bremer Buchanan, died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at 2:24 a.m. at the Massac Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2013, at St. Stephens Lutheran Church. Pastor Tom Emmerson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Ruby was a lifetime member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Metropolis, Ill. She was retired from Laidlaw Corp. In her earlier years, she worked at the Good Luck Glove Company, and after her retirement she worked at Chick-Fil-A.
Ruby is survived by her husband, Lawrence Buchanan; her three sons, Everett Bremer and wife Theresa, Derril Bremer and wife Geneene, and Steven Bremer and wife Pam; four grandchildren, Benjamin Bremer and wife Jessica, Jason Bremer, Nicholas Bremer and wife Samantha, and Erin Bremer; one great-granddaughter, Anniston Bremer; one sister, Dorothy Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.
Ruby was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul E. Bremer; one brother, Virgil Horstmann; her parents, Fred and Mayme (Hittermann) Horstmann.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Stephens Lutheran Church.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Music will be provided by Connie Douglas, organist.
Pallbearers will be Benjamin Bremer, Jason Bremer, Nicholas Bremer, Monte Bremer, Blake Bremer, and Mitch Bremer.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry and Ronnie Robinson.
Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
