ELIZABETHTOWN, Ill. — Melissa Dawn Barnard, 32, of Elizabethtown died at 12:22 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

She is survived by her parents, Ronnie Joe and Patti Barnard of Elizabethtown; one sister, Rhonda Renee Barnard of Elizabethtown; and her maternal grandparents, Alvin and Ida Ruth Banks of Herod.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jesse and Ilene Barnard.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Cox Funeral Home with burial at Cave Hill Cemetery in Cave-In- Rock. Rev. Arthur Austin Jr. will officiate.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, at the funeral home.
