METROPOLIS, Ill. — Georgianna Moorman, born December 5, 1928, peacefully passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013, at the age of 84 years old.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013, at Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Pastor Mike Hardison officiating.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Moorman. Georgianna was born in Albion, Illinois, raised in Eldorado, Illinois, and moved to Metropolis to work. Instead, she met her loving husband and lived in Metropolis the rest of her life. Georgianna was the mother of Keith (Patricia) Moorman, Bruce (Kathy) Moorman, and Eric (Tassy) Moorman. She was the proud grandmother of Kristin, Joey, and Emily Moorman, Elizabeth, Rachel, and Heather Moorman, and Nickolas Moorman. She enjoyed her grandchildren, and would have spoiled them even more, had they lived closer. Instead, she was the grandma that always sent special surprises and presents to her children and grandchildren.
Georgianna was a charter member of Community Christian Church of Metropolis which she faithfully served for over 35 years until illness limited and eventually prevented her from attending. She was very proud of her family and church, and took great joy in both.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to: Community Christian Church 1150 Country Club Rd., Metropolis, IL; or to American Diabetes Association, 425 South Woods Mill Rd, Ste 110, Chesterfield, MO 63017.
