Gretchen Slawinski, 72, of Paducah, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Monday, February 25, 2013, at her residence.
She was born in Hancock, Mich., and is formerly from Carl Junction, Mo., and Tamaqua, Pa. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Mrs. Slawinski was a homemaker, a wedding floral arranger, and also enjoyed bird watching.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Frank Slawinski; two daughters, Jennifer Johnson and her husband Brian of Paducah and Kristine Slawinski of Joplin, Mo; four grandchildren, Kyle and Marshall Johnson, both of Paducah, Nicole Beckham of Joplin, Mo., and Christopher Ryan Overstreet and his wife Tonya of Joplin, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Isaiah Beckham, Ryley and Carson Overstreet, all of Joplin, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Violet DesRochers Hartman.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013, at St. John Catholic Church with Father Tom Buckman officiating.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
