VILLA RIDGE, Ill. — Richard L. McMunn, 81, of Villa Ridge died at 7:39 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 with one year in Iceland. He was a farmer and retired from Electric Energy Inc. in Joppa, Ill. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Villa Ridge.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Ann McMunn; three children, Glenn McMunn of Villa Ridge, Brenda Webb of McClure, and Robert McMunn of McMinnville, Tenn.; two grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Emily Bjerg of Woodbury, Calif.; one brother, John McMunn of Redlands, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother. His parents were Richard L. McMunn Sr. and Virginia (Carter) McMunn.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Jones Funeral Home of Villa Ridge with the Rev. Larry Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Spencer Heights Cemetery in Mounds with military honors.

Friends may call between 5-8 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2013, at the funeral home.
