Martin and Tara Powers of Brandenburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Julia Gabrielle Powers, to Andrew Aarron Sanderson, son of Stephanie and Richard Woodfork Jr. of Brandenburg.

Miss Powers is the granddaughter of Shirley and Sharon Huff of Brandenburg, Tom Disney of Brandenburg, Therese Powers of Brandenburg and the late P.G. Powers. She is the great-granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Disney and Mrs. Nadine Fortner, all of Brandenburg. She is a 2009 graduate of Meade County High School in Brandenburg and is attending the University of Louisville’s Kent School of Social Work.

Mr. Sanderson is the grandson of Jerry and Cathey Alexander of Mayfield, Ms. Jeanette Brown of Mayfield, the late Stephen A. Sanderson, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Woodfork Sr. of Water Valley. He is a 2007 graduate of Graves County High School in Mayfield and earned a bachelor’s degree in biology in 2011 from Centre College in Danville. He is employed by the University of Louisville Hospital.

Wedding vows will be exchanged at 5 p.m. Aug. 10 at the Brown Hotel in Louisville.
