BURNA — Mr. Orville L. Gilland, 76, of Burna, passed away Monday evening, January 28, 2013, at Princeton Health and Rehabilitation Center in Princeton.
Mr. Gilland was a night watchman for the city of Salem for many years. Mr. Gilland was a jailer and dispatcher for Livingston County for over 17 years, and a deputy jailer for Crittenden County for several years as well.
He is survived by his wife, MJ Gilland; two sons, Chad and Bill Black, both of Paducah; a mother-in-law, Mary Black of Salem; sister-in-law, Lila Edmonson and her husband Kenny of Marion; brother-in-law, Glenn “Chug” Black of Salem; one niece, Alexa Black of Salem; and his four cats, Lucy, Toby, Bubba, and Smokie Joe.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Velda Gilland.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013, in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors in Salem.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors in Salem.
