MARION — Lowell Nelson Hughes, 70, of Marion died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Lourdes hospital.

He was a co-founder and former co-owner of Par 4 Plastics, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and member of Deer Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Muriel Hughes; one son, Ricky Nelson Hughes of Marion; two brothers, Denton Hughes of Tampa, Fla., and Doug Hughes of Ashburn, Ga.; one granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother. His parents were Virgil and Cloyce Stephenson Hughes.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Myers Funeral Home with Marty Brown officiating. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at the funeral home.
