E.V. Jackson Jr., 85, of Paducah died Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Lourdes hospital.
E.V. was a native of Dover, Tenn., and a graduate of Stewart County High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He was retired from U.S.E.C. having been an Operator/Inspector and was a member of OCAW 3-550 union. E.V. was a community volunteer where he enjoyed helping neighbors, raising a vegetable garden and sharing with friends, and was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Norma Yvonne Chadwick Jackson; one daughter, Deidre L. (Rob) Ervin of La Center, Ky.; two sons, Jonathan Kasey Jackson and Dan (Vicki) Jackson, both of Paducah, Ky.; four sisters, Laverne McDougal, Reba Crutcher, Lily Crutcher, and Omega Adams, all of Paducah, Ky.; two grandchildren, Jackson Ervin and Brandee Hayden; four great-grandchildren, Kylie Jackson, Mason Jackson, Kyler Teitsort and Landon Teitsort; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were parents, Emmitt Voille Jackson Sr. and Lacey Sills Jackson; three sisters, Geneva Crutcher, Dottie Henry and Oleta Leracy; and one brother, J.T. Jackson.
Services will be held Sunday, January 20, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Huffmaster officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery with military rites. Friends may call after 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2013, until service time at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
