CUBA — Ruth Johnson Canter, 90, of the Cuba community died at 6:10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Spring Creek Nursing Home in Murray.

She was owner of Johnson Grocery and Café in Cuba and was a member of Highpoint Baptist Church in Mayfield.

She is survived by two daughters, Martha Waldrop of Murray and Brenda Arnold of Mayfield; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, A. D. Johnson; her second husband, Lowell C. Canter; one stepdaughter, Jean Foster; two stepsons, Tommy and Bobby Johnson; three sisters; and one brother.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with the Revs. Rick Hatley and Rob Ison officiating. Burial will follow in Cuba Community Cemetery.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at the funeral home.
