GILBERTSVILLE — Mrs. Helen Oser, 94, of Gilbertsville, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013,  surrounded by her family in Memphis, Tenn. She was a loving mother, devoted wife, and a longtime member of St. Pius X Church in Calvert City.

Helen was preceded in death by her father, Addie Lee, and her mother, Mary Lee, and her husband, Irving “Butch” Oser. For many years, she and Irvan were the owners of the Dog ’N’ Suds Restaurant in Gilbertsville.

She is survived by her son, Joe (Kay) of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Dorothy Dorsam of Huntingburg, Ind.; niece, Wava Van Winkle of Booneville, Ind.; nephew, David Miller of Jacksonville, Fla.; and niece, Debbie Miller of Huntingburg, Ind.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Calvert City. Fr. Anthoni Ottagan will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Calvert City Cemetery in Calvert City.

Friends may visit with the family Friday, January 4, 2013, between the hours of 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Collier Funeral Home in Benton.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the givers’ favorite charity.
