CADIZ — Lonnie Bates Payne, 73, of Cadiz died Thursday, December 27, 2012, at his home.

Mr. Payne was a member of Guthrie Church of Christ. A commercial pilot for 28 years, he was the owner and operator of Payne Ag Aviation in Todd County and he later retired from Kentucky Department of Agriculture as a agriculture pilot. He also owned and operated a farm in Todd County for many years.

He was survived by his wife, Brenda Payne; a daughter, Angela Starnes of Marion; a son, Lenny Conyea of Guthrie; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers. His parents were John Bruce and Cora Payne.

A private service was held Friday, December 28, 2012. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Goodwin Funeral Home of Cadiz was in charge of arrangements.
