John H. Tyler Sr., 71, of Paducah, died 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at Lourdes hospital.
He was a retiree of the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by two sons, Diamond D. Tyler and John Tyler Jr., both of Paducah; a stepdaughter, Angela D. Tyler of Paducah; three brothers, Terry Ragsdale of Paducah, Edward Tyler and Leroy Tyler, both of Detroit; seven sisters, Deloris Ragsdale Elliott of Cincinnati, Ohio, Frankie Ragsdale Drew, Connie Ragsdale, Edna Tyler Allen, Ellener Tyler Deboe, Ella Tyler Mayes, and Mamie Tyler Stewart, all of Paducah; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Tyler, Sr.; his mother, Katie Tyler Ragsdale; his stepfather, Kermit Ragsdale; three brothers; and a sister.
Services will be noon Thursday, December 27, 2012, at New Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Wade officiating with burial to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012, until the funeral hour at the church.
