SMITHLAND — Mr. and Mrs. James Jones of Smithland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday with a family dinner.

Mr. Jones and the former Rebecca Kemper were married Dec. 22, 1962, at Suwanee Furnace Baptist Church parsonage in Kuttawa by the Rev. David Brasher. Their attendants were Lee Jones and Eugenia McCandless Dorn.

Mrs. Jones is a retired Livingston County deputy clerk. She is the daughter of the late C.O. and Virginia Dare Kemper.

Mr. Jones is a retired Livingston County Clerk. He is the son of the late Chester and Minnie Jones.

They have three children: Darrell Jones of Smithland, Dana Broyles of Goodlettsville, Tenn., and Denise Sutton of Lyon County; and three grandchildren.
