PULASKI, Ill. — Alvin Lance, 96, of Pulaski, Ill., died at 7:20 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2012, at his home.

He attended the Wetaug Church of Christ, the Pulaski Christian Church, and the Mounds Church of Christ. He was a retired truck driver with McKesson Drug Company in Cairo, and he worked for several farmers in the Pulaski area. He worked the front gate for 46 years at the Pulaski County Fair and had been a night watchman at the fair. He also enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include three sons, Joseph Lance of Waterloo, Ill., Michael Lance of Pulaski and David P. Lance of Smithton, Ill.; two daughters, Marilyn Lauderdale of Caseyville, Ill., and Jannelle McGovern of Pulaski; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Palmer Alvin, and several sisters. His parents were Sylvester and Mary Alice Lance.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Jones Funeral Home Villa Ridge with the Rev. Wiley D. Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Pulaski.

Friends may call today after 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
