“Anna Karenina”
Keira Knightley stars as the title character, a Russian socialite whose attraction to Count Vronsky (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) prompts her to question her marriage to Karenin (Jude Law), with tragic consequences.
The buzz: Director Joe Wright (”Atonement,” “Pride and Prejudice”) takes a bold, theatrical approach to a much-adapted story. While some will find it appealing, the visually stylized film may leave other viewers cold.
Length: 129 min.
Show times: 7 and 9:30 p.m. Fridays, 4:30, 7 and 9:30 p.m. Saturdays, 4:30 and 7 p.m. Sundays, Dec. 21 through Dec. 30. Additional screenings at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 26 and 27, at Maiden Alley Cinema.
