CLINTON — Rev. Jerrell Harvey Yarbrough, 82, of Clinton and formerly of Burkley, died Tuesday at 6:21 p.m. at Parkway Regional Hospital in Fulton, Ky.
He was a United Methodist pastor in the Memphis Conference for 30 years, serving many churches in Western Kentucky and West Tennessee, a member of Spence Chapel United Methodist Church, and worked as an orderly at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield.
He was a corporal in the United States Army and served in the Korean War where he earned a Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal, and three Bronze Stars.
He is survived by three daughters, Tina McAuliffe of Clinton, Trina Burnham and husband Jimmy of Clinton, and Kyra Bell and husband Rodney of Clinton; three sons, Kenneth Jerrell Yarbrough and wife Tina of Bardwell, Skippy Duane Yarbrough of Clinton, and Mark Alan Yarbrough of Trenton, Tenn.; one sister, Eva Walker and husband Charlie of Wickliffe; one brother, Rev. Kenneth Yarbrough and wife Frances of Arlington; seven grandchildren, Melissa Yarbrough of Bardwell, Crystal Janes and husband Jarred of Clinton, Chad Yarbrough and wife Tiffany of Bardwell, Jaclyn McAuliffe of Clinton, Brandon Hannon of Clinton, Brooke McAuliffe of Clinton, and Nathon Yarbrough of Trenton, Tenn., and five great-grandchildren, Jasmine Morales, Lily Esparza, Xander Keys, Addison Janes, and Austin Yarbrough.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Earcy Sullivan Yarbrough; four sisters, Eulean Peck, Mary Frances Thomason, Shelby Graves, and Dorothy May Yarbrough; two sons, Thomas Anthony Yarbrough and Kelly Shawn Yarbrough; one great-grandchild, Peyton Janes, and a son-in-law, John D. McAuliffe.
Services for Rev. Yarbrough will be Friday, Dec. 14, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Yarbrough officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow at Burkley Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Thursday evening.
