MAYFIELD — Billy L. Smoot, 77, of Mayfield died Friday at Heritage Manor in Mayfield.

An Air Force veteran, he was a retired electrician at B.F. Goodrich and a former deacon of Northside Church of Christ.

Mr. Smoot is survived by his wife, Evelyn Adams Smoot; a son, Troy Smoot of Mayfield; a brother, Royce Smoot of Mayfield; and three sisters, Sara Woods and Avella Padgett, both of Mayfield, and Susan Conn of Sebastian, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Avada Byron Smoot.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield.

Mike Tucker and Tony Kelton will officiate.

Burial will follow in Highland Park Mausoleum. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield.
