Helen Elizabeth Scott Connor, 85, of Paducah, Ky., passed away on Monday, December 3rd, 2012, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Eddyville, Ky.
Elizabeth was born the daughter of Harry Franklin Scott and Oda Reba Johnson Scott on January 12th, 1927. Elizabeth married Harold Freeland Connor of Paducah, Kentucky on January 2nd, 1946. They were married at St Francis De Sales in Paducah and they enjoyed 68 years of wonderful marriage together.
Elizabeth graduated from St. Mary’s Academy of Paducah. She went to work for S.S. Kresege until she married Harold in 1946. She previously worked for Magnavox, Spiegel Catalog Store and Bob’s One Hour Cleaner. She was an avid bridge player, a member of St. Thomas More Church and the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She loved to square dance and enjoyed being a homemaker.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Harold Connor. She is also survived by her children, Ronald Earl Connor and wife Barb of Eddyville, Michael Scott Connor of Paducah, and Anita Jean Connor Peck and husband Jewell of Danville, Ill.; her sister, Martha Jean Scott Evans Floyd of Paducah; two brothers, Paul Foster Scott of Paducah, and James Orville Scott and wife Mary of Paducah; grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Connor Griffin and husband Brad, Kelly Elizabeth Connor Ruwe and husband Stuart, Kara Elizabeth Peck Kidwell and husband Eric, and Krista Renee Peck; and their great-grandchildren, Connor Ryan Griffin, Christian Isaiah Kidwell, and Charity Lynn Kidwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Franklin Scott and Oda Reba Johnson Scott; one son, Thomas Harold Connor; one brother Franklin Scott Jr.; and one grandson, Kyle Thomas Peck.
Funeral Mass will be held at noon on Thursday, December 6, 2012, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Father J. Patrick Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
