CADIZ — Dorothy “Dot” M. Claiborne, 87, of Cramerton, N.C., formerly of Cadiz, died Saturday at Stanley Total Living Center in Stanley, N.C.

She was a member of Cadiz Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher.

She is survived by a son, Robert A. Claiborne Sr., of Belmont, N.C.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Claiborne Jr.; a son, Harold Edward Claiborne; two brothers; and a sister. Her parents were Dallas McKinley Austin and Rosa Shelby Austin,

Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
