EDDYVILLE — James L. Blaylock, 78, of Eddyville died at 3:20 a.m. Monday at Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

He was a retired carpenter.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Martha E. Erickson Blaylock; one daughter, Pam Mayes of Central City; one son, Bryan L. Blaylock of Eddyville; three sisters, Flo Buckler of Russellville, Irene Bruns of Delta, Iowa, and Jan Gray of South Jordan, Utah; and one brother, Jack Blaylock of Cresco, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. His parents were Charles Forrest and Cora Eldora Blaylock.

A memorial service will be held later. Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
