MAYFIELD — Charles McAlpin, 87, of Mayfield died at 2:45 a.m. Sunday at Mills Health and Rehabilitation.

He was a World War II Navy veteran and a retired security guard.

He is survived by three daughters, Janice McAlpin, Paula Lee and Bridgette Ortega, all of Mayfield; four sons, Gary McAlpin of Rolla, Mo., and Charlie McAlpin, William McAlpin and David McAlpin, all of Mayfield; 23 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Tony McAlpin, Jeff McAlpin and Steven McAlpin.

His parents were William and Levie Savage McAlpin.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home with Chad Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in Pottsville Church of Christ Cemetery,

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
