METROPOLIS, Ill. — Ms. Nellie Mae (Chamberlain) Taylor, 87, of Metropolis, Ill., went home to be with the Lord while her loving family was by her side at 4:55 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at the Massac Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2012, at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Cruse officiating. Burial will follow at the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Nellie is survived by two daughters, Linda Steel and husband John from Metropolis, Ill., and Kim Cissell of Crossville, Tenn.; one son, Jim Taylor and wife Sherry of Metropolis, Ill.; four grandsons, Dustin Steel of Franklin, Tenn., Ryan Cissell of Benton, Ky., Nick Cissell of Metropolis, Ill., and Brandon Taylor of Reidland, Ky.; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law, Ann Taylor of Paducah, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Taylor; her parents, Jim and Elizabeth (Hitterman) Chamberlain; one sister and two brothers.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Friday, November 2, 2012, at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Memorial/Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or Immanuel Baptist Church, 1119 Market Street, Metropolis, IL 62960.
Pallbearers will be Joe Konemann, Brandon Taylor, Dustin Steel, Ryan Cissell, Nick Cissell and Ralph Steel.
