NEW CONCORD — William Romain “Bill” Hicks, 71, of New Concord died at 7 p.m. Sunday at his home.

He was a crane operator and steel worker at Bandarrs Steel. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Hicks; one daughter, Rida Williams of Murray; two sons, Earl Hicks and Teddy Hicks, both of Murray; one sister, Loretta Berberich of Murray; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Vannie Hicks.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hicks Cemetery with the Rev. James Ed Smith officiating. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home in Murray.
