BENTON — Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Vasseur of Benton, formerly of Hanson, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an Alaskan cruise.

Mr. Vasseur and the former Susie Williams were married Oct. 20, 1962, by James O. Methany at Zion Baptist Church in Joliet, Ill. Their attendants were Dovie M. May and Emeral Williams.

Mrs. Vasseur is a retired nursing instructor from the Health Occupations School in Madisonville. She is the daughter of the late Murray and Susie M. Williams.

Mr. Vasseur retired from the U.S. Army and is a retired partner in an insurance agency in Evansville, Ind. He is the son of the late Roy and Lexie Vasseur.

They have one daughter, Melonie L. Weatherford of Atlanta, Ga.; and three granddaughters.
