CALVERT CITY — Evelyn Dell Smith, age 75, of Calvert City, Ky., died Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at her residence in Calvert City, Ky.

She was the daughter of the late Eunice Virgil Darnell and the late Otha Mae (Gore) Darnell.

She also survived by one daughter, Shawna Carol Smith of Calvert City, Ky.; two sons, Shane Smith, wife Kim of Almo, Ky., Steven Smith, wife Tammie of Calvert City, Ky.; one sister, Hilda Mae Mustion of Murray, Ky.; five brothers, Richard Darnell of Calvert City, Ky., Eddy Wayne Darnell of Murray, Ky., Brooks Darnell of Murray, Ky., Gene Darnell of Murray, Ky., Ted Darnell of Murray, Ky.; grandchildren: Treston Smith of Gilbertsville, Ky., Taylor Smith of Paducah, Ky., Cory Smith of Paducah, Ky., Cody Smith of Murray, Ky., Shayna Smith of Murray, Ky.; and great-grandchildren, Easton Smith and Addison Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Powell Smith; daughter, Sheena Renee Smith; brother, Danny Lynn Darnell; and sister, Mary Ruth Taylor.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY. Graveside Funeral service will be at Dees Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2012.  Rev. Dusty Darnell will officiate. Interment will follow at Dees Cemetery, Calvert City, Ky.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 11:00 and 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2012 at the Collier Funeral Home.
