BOAZ — Robert Jackson McIntosh, 93, of Boaz passed away at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2012, at his home. He was surrounded by his loving family as he left this life and went to meet his eternal family.
He was born October 3, 1919, to the late Orville McIntosh and Maud McNeill McIntosh at their home in Boaz, Ky.
Mr. McIntosh was a retired electrician of 59 years and was a member of IBEW Local #816 of Paducah. Robert was an avid UK basketball fan and his hobbies included fishing, trains, and farming. He was a World War II U. S. Army Veteran and was a member of Spring Creek Church of Christ of Dogwood, where he served as church treasurer for 33 years.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joetta B. McIntosh of Boaz; two daughters, Rhonda Ellington and husband Bill of Boaz, Tammy Thompson and husband Danny of Boaz; one sister, Maudine Faughn of Boaz; one stepbrother, Billy Snow of Chicago, Ill.; four grandchildren, Kimberly Wilson and husband Scott, Stephanie Thompson, Kristen Smithson and Seth Thompson; four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Wilson, Adlee Grace Smithson, Audrey Paige Wilson and Elena Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Harold (Skeet) McIntosh; two sisters, Mary Belle Powers and Carolyn Keeton; and one grandson, Casey Smithson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2012, at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with Tye Barnett officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Boaz. Serving as pallbearers will be Joel Ellington, Jimmie Ellington, Jerald Ellington, Seth Thompson, Scott Wilson and Menno Hershburger.
Visitation will be after 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
