Doris E. Waldridge Bell Rushing, 96, of Paducah, Ky., passed away at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Paducah.

Doris was a member of the East Baptist Church and the National Democratic Party.

She worked for the Paducah Basket Company, Claussner Hosiery Mill and the Boaz Drug Store.

Doris is survived by her adoptive daughters, Mary E. Dudley and husband Donald of Paducah, Ky., and Elizabeth Banks and husband Billy of Paducah, Ky.; grandchildren, Donya Brasher of Paducah, Ky., Lisa Meyers of Lexington, Tenn., and Michelle Woods of Murray, Ky.; great-grandchildren, Tara and Chase Brasher, McKenzie and Cylar Meyers, and Tyler Woods; sister-in-law, Annella Waldridge of Paducah, Ky.; several nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Solon Bell and her second husband, Martin Rushing; granddaughter, Brittany Banks, five brothers, Marvin Waldridge, Lewis Waldridge, William Waldridge, Charles Waldridge, Junior Waldridge; and one sister, Mary Ruby Waldridge Hicks; and three infant sisters. Her parents were Louis Marvin “Dick” Waldridge and Alcestria “Cestie” McKinney Waldridge.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2012 at the Mt. Kenton Cemetery with the Rev. Curtis Harrell officiating. There will be no visitation.
