MARION, Ill. — Eva Gene McHenry, 96, of Marion, formerly of the Buncombe community in Johnson County, died at 4:30 a.m. Monday at Marion Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Marion.

She formerly owned and operated Ragsdale’s General Store in Buncombe, and had served as Buncombe postmaster.

She was a member of Buncombe United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Fairbanks of Marion; one son, Robert McHenry of Goreville; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis McHenry; one granddaughter; one sister; and four brothers. Her parents were Herbert and Dora Ragsdale.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Vienna Fraternal Cemetery.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
