BENTON — Hazel Louise Colson, age 82, of Benton, Ky., died Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Murray-Calloway Co. Hospital in Murray, Ky.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Benton.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Travis and husband Gary of Benton, Ky.; daughter-in-law, Jerilyn Colson of Benton, Ky.; grandchildren, Stacey Blakely and husband Gary of Cadiz, Ky., Wes Colson and wife Shelly of Murray, Ky.; great-grandchild, Madison Blakely of Cadiz, Ky.; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Eugene Colson; one son, Geary Colson; several brothers; and sisters.

She was the daughter of the late Clell Burkeen and the late Cora (Nelson) Burkeen.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY. Funeral service will be at Collier Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012, with Rev. Don Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Fairdealing Cemetery in Benton, Ky.

Visitation will be held at Collier Funeral Home on Saturday, October 6, 2012, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
