BENTON — Westerfield D. Saling, 78, of Benton died at 8:11 a.m. Monday at his home.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by one daughter, Deana Saling Brooks of Benton; one son, Mark Saling of Crestwood; one grandson, William Danny Tyler of Clarksville, Ind., and one sister Sue Munley of Benton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Garland Saling; and three brothers. His parents were Everett Saling and Clara Brooks Saling.

There will be a private ceremony with no visitation or local services. Interment will be in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Ind.
