Bobby G. Cathey, 76, of Paducah, Ky., passed away at 5:12 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

Bobby was retired from General Tire and was employed as a custodian for Lone Oak Elementary School. He was a member of Heartland Worship Center.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Dorothy Powell Cathey of Paducah, Ky.; daughter, Darla Cook and husband Jeff of Paducah, Ky.; son, Dennie Cathey and wife Cindy of Paducah, Ky.; sisters, Sue Powell of Paducah, Ky., Dorothy Lawrence of Paducah, Ky., Christine Ivy of Canton, Ohio; brother, Chester Cathey of Paducah, Ky.; grandchildren, Kisha Cook of Paducah, Ky., and Josh Cathey of Paducah, Ky.; great-grandchildren, Kaiden Rodgers, Kelsei Cathey, Landon Cathey, Faith Cathey; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. His parents were William Arthur Cathey and Hattie Smithers Cathey.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Young and the Rev. Johnny Sams officiating.

Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
