CADIZ — Betty J. Hicks, 83, of Cadiz died Sunday at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

She was a retired teacher. She was a member of Ponderosa Baptist Church and Delta Kappa Gamma.

She is survived by three sons, Mark Hicks of Baton Rouge, La., Neil Hicks and Jimmy Hicks, both of Luling, La.; two daughters, Ellen Spivey of Lexington and Robbin Friloux of Destrehan, La.; one sister, Judy Woosley of Bowling Green; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David T. Hicks; and two brothers. Her parents were Ellis and Mary Ethel Bruce Williams.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ponderosa Baptist Church with the Rev. Norman Cotton officiating.
