Mary Madeline Grant, 96, of Paducah, formerly of the Unionville community and Metropolis, Ill., passed away at 11:46 a.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Lourdes hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Mt. Sterling Cemetery in Brookport, Ill., with Jason McManus officiating.

Mary resided at Legacy Personal Care Home in Paducah and attended Lighthouse Assembly of God in Metropolis, Ill. Ms. Grant enjoyed playing guitar and in years past performed in a band. Mary never met a stranger and was loved by all.

Mary is survived by a special friend, Charlotte C. Stratemeyer; several cousins; and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna Mae (Kinneman) Grant; and her sister, Charlotte Grant.

Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
