MURRAY — Will Rob “Scooper” Walston Jr. age 67, of 633 Cole’s Campground Road, Murray, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 5, 2012, after a 12-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He spent the last 31⁄2 years at Benchmark Health Care of Puryear, Tenn., where he received excellent and loving care.
He took a lot of pride in his country, service to his country, his family and his love for Christ. He was loving, generous, funny and hard-working. Rob was loved by many and will be remembered by all.
He was born January 13, 1945, in Murray to the late Will Rob Walston and Jewell Walston Blankenship. He served four years in the Army in Germany, where he met his wife of 45 years Monica Haack Walston, who survives him. Into this marriage two daughters were born, Heather Broadway and Holly Mack, both of Murray. He is also survived by one son, Johnny Garner of Murray; one sister, Sharon Beggrow and husband, Steve of Bon Aqua, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Roger Jones, Hope and Bo Broadway, Alexis Marston and Heath and Ted Garner.
A military memorial service is planned for Saturday, September 15, at the Heritage Family Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Cunningham officiating.
