Greg and Beth Simmons of Lone Oak announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Beth Cash, to Steven Pryor Scales, son of Kathy Scales of Bartlett, Tenn., and Ed Scales of Munford, Tenn.

Miss Cash is the granddaughter of Billy and Gloria Simmons of Lone Oak, and the late Jesse and Bobbie Horton. She is a 2006 graduate of Lone Oak High School and a 2010 graduate of Murray State University with a bachelor’s degree. She is employed by Cummins Mid-South, LLC, in Memphis, Tenn.

Mr. Scales is the grandson of the late James Scales, the late Helen Scales the late Clara Haynes Briggs, and the late Harry Coker Scales. He is a 2003 graduate of Germantown High School in Germantown, Tenn., and a 2011 graduate of Murray State University with a bachelor’s degree. He is employed at LifePointe Village in Southaven, Miss.

An October wedding is planned in Bartlett, Tenn.
