BOAZ — Mr. and Mrs. Dick Wurth of Boaz celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at a dinner Saturday at the St. John Knights of Columbus Hall. The couple request no gifts.

Mr. Wurth and the former Betty Jane Leavell were married Sept. 1, 1962, by Chaplain Raymond Hill at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin, Texas. Their attendants were Bill Wurth and Retha Greeson.

Mrs. Wurth is the daughter of the late Thomas and Inas Leavell.

Mr. Wurth is the retired owner of Dick Wurth’s Plumbing Co. He is the son of the late Firmin and Elouise Wurth.

They have four children: Troy Wurth of Graves County, Lisa Murphy of Russellville, Laura Rowland of Bardwell and Tracy Wurth of Paducah; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
