BENTON — Eugene Powell, 73, of Benton died at 8:50 a.m. Thursday at his home.

He was retired from Mattel Corp.

He is survived by his wife, Lelah Wood Powell; three daughters, Amanda Powell of New Jersey, Jennifer Lamb of Benton, and Janice Smith of Buchanan, Tenn.; three sons, Douglas Powell and Danny Powell, both of New Jersey, and David Darnell of Kirksey; one sister, Jolene Alford of Fulton; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother. His parents were Mitchel and Theaether Nelson Powell.

Memorial services will be held later with interment in Good Springs Cemetery in Dukedom, Tenn. Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
