METROPOLIS, Ill. — Mr. and Mrs. James Whitlock of Metropolis celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends in Craig, Colo.
Mr. Whitlock and the former Jan Scarbrough were married Aug. 21, 1962, by Herschel McCord at the United Methodist Church in Nappanee, Ind. Their attendants were Jim and Sharon Pippinger.
Mrs. Whitlock is retired from food service and also worked at a campground in the Land Between the Lakes. She is the daughter of the late Gerald and Luella Scarbrough.
Mr. Whitlock is retired from the U.S. Air Force. He is the son of the late William and Myrtle Whitlock.
They are the parents of Sharon Caudill Whitlock of Big Piney, Wyo., James Whitlock of St. Charles, Mo., and Sandra Whitlock of Craig, Colo.
They have six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
