David Neil Courtney, age 76, of Paducah, formerly of the Melber community, passed away at 6:52 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012, at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center of Paducah.
Mr. Courtney was a native of Melber and was a member of Bethel Tabernacle Church. He worked in maintenance for Cheers, General Tire and Inland Steel. He also ran the WBCE Christian Radio Station 1200 AM and was the owner and operator of Courtney TV Repair. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the American Legion and Masonic Lodge No. 449 F&AM.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Courtney of Paducah; two daughters, Pamela Bilderback (Harry) of Symsonia, Ky., and Marsha Hawes (David) of Lone Oak; one son, Steve Courtney of Paducah; one stepson, Ronnie Lane of Moss Point, Mississippi; one brother, Larry Courtney (Louana) of Melber; three grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Diane Lippe; and stepsons, Roger Lane and Mickey Lane. His parents were Venice Courtney and Rebecca Huddleston Courtney.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2012, at Keeling Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Vance officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with full military rites.
Friends may visit with the family from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2012, at the funeral home.
