ARLINGTON — Gracie Mae Atherton King, 88, of Arlington died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday at Countryside Health Care.

She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Janie High of Bardwell and Helen Maynard of Arlington; one sister, Irene Wooley of Bardwell; a brother, Norman Atherton of Ballard County; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Cecil King; one daughter, Ruth Carrington; her parents, Willie and Dora Hobbs Atherton; four sisters; and two brothers.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington with the Rev. Terry Penix officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
