Mr. and Mrs. Carney Allen of Paducah will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 5 at Walker Hall Event Center, 229 Madison St., Paducah. All friends and relatives are invited. The couple request no gifts.

Mr. Allen and the former Nancy Pat Barnes were married June 30, 1962, at Margaret Hank Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Paducah by the Rev. E. Thach Shauf. Their attendants were Nolen Allen and Arlene Prestipino.

Mrs. Allen served for 20 years as a court-appointed special advocate for children volunteer. She is the daughter of the late Paul and Ernestine Barnes.

Mr. Allen is a retired certified public accountant. He is the son of the late Charles Tyler and Pearl Allen.

They have two children: Nancy Allen Smith of Germantown, Tenn., and Gregory Tyler Allen of Nashville, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.
