METROPOLIS, Ill. — Mr. Carl Buchanan, age 76, of Metropolis, IL., passed away at 1 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at the Miller Funeral Home. Rev. Terry Mathis will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Carl was the former owner of Metropolis Mobile Homes and a former member of the VFW. He was an entrepreneur, avid hunter, and a veteran of the United States Army.

Carl is survived by his sister, Dorothy B. Faith and husband, Monroe of Mexico; nieces and nephews, Chris Geisler of Olathe, KS., Steve Geisler of Olathe, KS., Leslie Faith of IL., and Terri Duncan of Pittsburgh, PA.; several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Lucian and Erna Buchanan; wife, Virginia (Meinders) Buchanan, and brother, William Buchanan.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, July 18, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis, IL.

Pallbearers will be Kirk Duncan, Leslie Faith, Steve Geisler, Austin Duncan, Mitchell Jones, and Michael Jones.
