MURRAY — Mary Sue Sherrard Whisman, 81, of Murray died Monday at Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

She was a homemaker and worked as a legal secretary. She was a member of First Baptist Church and of the Pairs and Spares Sunday school class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Whisman; one sister; and one granchild. Her parents were William Marian Sherrard and Mamie Frances Smith Sherrard.

She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Williams of Murray and Lynn Whisman Bush of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one son, Wayne Whisman of Franklin, Tenn.; one sister, Betty Lane Riley; one brother, William Bryant Sherrard; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Boyd Smith officiating. Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday at Jackson Cemetery in Jackson.
