BENTON — Johnnie Earl Wells, 52, of Benton died Thursday at Lourdes hospital in Paducah.

He worked in construction as a laborer.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Wells of Waterloo, Ind.; two stepsons, Timothy Schohl of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Eric Williams of Waterloo; one sister, Phyllis Blackwell of Benton; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. His parents were Ben Wells and Carrie Pearl Lee Wells.

Memorial services will be later. Collier Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
