John and Pat Edwards of Cape Girardeau, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Claire Kathleen Edwards, to James Kenneth Hunt, son of Ken and Beth Hunt of Paducah.

Miss Edwards is the granddaughter of the late Everett and Betty Anne Haskell, and the late Virgil and Wilma Edwards. She is a 2006 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School in Cape Girardeau. She earned a bachelor’s degree in occupational science in 2010 and a master’s degree in occupational therapy in 2011, both from St. Louis University. She is an occupational therapist with Healthcare Therapy Services in Louisville.

Mr. Hunt is the grandson of Helen Luyster of Paducah and the late James Luyster, and Dr. Hilary Hunt of Paducah and the late Mary Lou Hunt. He is a 2006 graduate of St. Mary High School and a 2010 graduate of St. Louis University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He is attending the University of Louisville School of Dentistry.

Wedding vows will be exchanged Aug. 4 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.
