MARION — Mary J. Alvis, 100, of Marion died Tuesday at Livingston Hospital and Healthcare Services in Salem.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, James Alvis of Calvert City and George Alvis of Uniontown; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Alvis; two sons, Gene Paul Alvis and Donald Ray Alvis; one brother; and two sisters. Her parents were James and Flossie Farmer Hughes.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Myers Funeral Home in Marion with burial in Mount Zion Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
